Tennessee, here we come!
Ryan and I had a great trip to Nashville. We spent a lot of good quality time together. One of the coolest experiences was eating out at the Melting Pot, a fondue restaraunt. Ryan had never done fondue before and we thought it would be nice to take our time and enjoy the food and the company. When we called they were already booked up, but we decided to try to walk in. Luckily, there was a nice lady at the door who found us a table. The food was fabulous. We had melted cheese with veggies and fruit, salad, different meats including steak and lobster, and melted chocolate with fruit, cheescake, marshmellows, and pound cake. It was awesome! It was nice to take our time and not be rushed all weekend. We sat in the lobby of the hotel on Sunday morning and read for like 2 hours. Who would have thought that that is what we would’ve wanted to spend our time doing. It was just nice to have quiet and time and eachother.
On another note, Elijah and Josiah started soccer this week. We had a game on Friday night and early Saturday morning. Both boys got to start out in goal and both boys did great and seemed to have a lot of fun the whole game. It is sooooo healthy for boys to play sports. They need some way to release some of that energy and the competitiveness seems to come so natural to them. Ryan and I enjoyed watching our boys having fun and doing something that they were good at.
On another note, our friend Chris Gannar got married while we were in Tennessee. Ryan and I were very happy for him. It’s great when your single friends find a mate. Chris and his wife seem to fit very well together. We also got to catch up with some of our friends from Tennessee. I always am tempted to move there after we see everyone, but I know my home is here. It’s just so cool how God can knit your heart with people who you hardly ever see.
